Happy Xmas And A Merry New Year

Happy New Year All. Sorry about being away for so long over the festive period but my liver was in need of some serious degeneration (well it wasn't really) and i haven't been able to get anything together but now i'll put together a few things.

Firstly if everyone hasn't already checked out the Pitchfork Top 100 Tracks of 2007, you definitely should. Even though they are the epitomie of up their own asses, they have put together quite a good list and a lot of the tracks they list have attached mp3s which is great. Oh and while you're there have a look at the 2006 list too, it had some great tracks that I had missed back then.

Johnny T in Saturday Night Fever is probably the coolest guy ever. And i've been having somewhat of a disco renaissance, James Murphy yadayadayaaa, but I mean fucking hell, who can keep still when there's a good piece of disco blaring out ya grammaphone. Anyway get your glitter balls out cos here's a few disco tracks to celebrate.

First track is by Escort, a live disco outfit from the US who do real 70's disco that sounds like it wouldn't be out of place at Studio 54.

Escort - All Through The Night

Next is another couple of newer tracks (by newer I mean from this millenium) from Kris Menace and Lifelike, two disco revivalists that I have really started to enjoy. (Sorry that the first track is the radio edit but the standard track clocks in just under nine and a half minutes which i thought was a tad indulgent)

Kris Menace and Lifelike - Discopolis (Radio Edit)

Kris Menace Presents Stars on 33 - I Feel Music in Your Heart (Lifelike and Kris Menace Remix)

And Lastly a track I stumbled on to from the recent A Different Story Vol.1: Mixed by Freestylers. An old gem given a beefed up flavour that sounds great.

First Choice (Freestylers Mix) - Let No Man Put Us Under
